I have doubts that a women or a black man can be president when I here things like this that I just heard an Okie say...

"I'm not voting for someone who didn't put his hand over his heart to salute the flag. I'm not voting for some Buddhist or Muslim or whatever who aint no Christian, and I sure aint vo'in for some women who aint no man, and is going through menopause."

Well, to be fair, Democrats generally do not include Oklahoma in their list of must-win states...

Again... it will come down to how the candidates do in the swing states. Any Democrat should be able to win the traditional liberal states like California, New York, and Illiniois... Just like any Republican can win the traditional red states. The key to winning the White House is your ability to sway the middle of the roaders.

It remains to be seen whether a woman or a black man can do so.

McCain is probably the best hope the Repugs have.

Does it matter. Texas is a winner take all state IIRC, which means it will go to the GOP regardless of for whom you cast your vote?

As far as the general election, they're all winner-take-all except Maine and Nebraska, and IIRC those two states have never had someone win a split delegation anyway.
