Still, unlike in Michigan, the other state that defied the Democratic National Committee and went ahead with an early primary, the names of Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Obama and a third candidate, John Edwards, a former North Carolina senator, are on the ballots that Floridians saw when early voting started 15 days before the primary and on absentee ballots that were distributed as early as Dec. 15.

Also, Charlie Crist looks like the kingmaker. In the (IMO unlikely) event of a McCain victory in the general, look for him to get a cushy cabinet position.
Not a chance. He's a closet gay and closet liberal, and neither are all that secret down here.

Why would closet liberal kick him out of a hypothetical McCain admin?

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio
Cuz McCain is pretty friggin' conservative. What he isn't is corrupt, or at least he gives off an air of integrity (which he promptly lost after cozying up to fundies).

I think McCain can beat Hillary. I still just cannot see her as having much of a chance. She just leaves that "icky" taste in my mouth every time she speaks. Shady, dishonest, manipulative - yeah, the rest of them are too, but she just comes across the worst.
I rather think that after 4 or 8 years of Hillary, even Ramo and chegitz will be - very privately - wishing Dubya was still around.
Maybe, depends. I don't doubt Clinton's ability to put her foot in it. According to an account I read, almost every bone-headed decision her husband made during his presidency and his run for it were made by her, not him. He's very politically savvy, her not so much. So I don't doubt her ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
On the other hand, the country is solidly against the war and he's solidly in favor of it. And there's such a level of anger at the GOP that even McCain might not be able to over come it. He seriously tarnished his integrity when he cozied up to the Prez, and the Falwell types, and created legislation that made it easier for the President to get away with torture.

How sad would it be if she's the only one on the ballot and still can't get a majority?
Obama and Edwards are on the ballot, dufus.
edit: it even says so in the article you linked. Jesus Christ.
What self-pwnage. Clinton is destroying the field in Florida where EVERYONE still running was on the ballot, 50-33 over Obama.
Mccain won 36-31 over Romney, Guiliani at 15%, which means he's done (Huckabee at 14).

Yeah, chegitz, but I wonder if the economy isn't more important than the war now. I haven't really seen the polls on that issue - how does Clinton compare against McCain when the economy is the main issue?
We know McCain is weak on values (poll-wise), but so is Hillary. They differ on the war - except that Hillary, to my knowledge has never voted against the war, like Obama has. She can get hit on that, too. At least McCain is consistent on that issue - and remember what the "flip-flopping" thing did to John Kerry.

For better or worse, McCain's the nominee. I think he's a lot weaker than everyone thinks he is, though (but still stronger than the other candidates). More than any other candidate, he's inexorably tied to Iraq. And I'm pretty certain Iraq's gonna look far worse in November...
Even if Iraq goes perfectly for McCain, he'll still be the easiest Republican to take out.

I'm voting Socialist regardless, so this is just interesting banter for me.

Clinton is a bit smarter than Kerry. Hell, anyone running right now is a bit smarter than Kerry.

McCain has Iraq, and the appearance of being a maverick. But, as Ramo pointed out, Iraq is likely not going to be going swimmingly in November, and in terms of domestic policy, Clinton is more articulate, and is purposing better policy. Obama would still have a better chance, and it's way too early to give up on his candidacy, but even Clinton has a decent shot against McCain.
