Well, no it was more a logical, rationalistic choice (even though Charlie was probably motivated by emotion), since Charlie had seen very convincing evidence that Desmond could see the future. He also knew that he was in constant mortal peril, and had been saved only temporarily by Desmond’s interventions. What he didn’t think of, is that Desmond might misinterpret what he saw, because he only saw flashes of the future.

I still think it was a decision based on faith rather than logic. He had to have faith in Desmond's predictions to come to the conclusion that he had to sacrifice himself. I will agree that he put together pieces of the puzzle using logic, but those pieces came from faith rather than any scientific sort of logic.

He's a popular character - so he probably wont really be dead.

That's a shame, I kinda hate the guy.

I think the guy that played Charlie wanted to leave the show because he was getting less airtime as the series went on. So I don't think he will be back anytime soon.

That's just a cover so that when he comes back to life it's all the more shocking.

I was meaning to buy season3 on blu ray to refresh my memory, but didn't get around to it, and now don't have hours and hours to blow watching. oh well.

I just hope they maintain enough viewership to finish the series...

I thought killing off Charlie was a producer's conspiracy to break him up from Evangeline Lilly.
<-- that's supposed to be Dominic trying to get to Evangeline

They should give him his own show for getting Evangeline Lilly. Dominic Monaghine for playing out of his league.

That's how I watched seasons one and two. Never watched before two came out on DVD. Bought them both and did little mini marathons for a week or so -- avoids the painful cliffhanger endings, and you're less pissed when some episode off the main storyline gets inserted. I watched last season as it aired. Not as good that way. I'm far less interested than I once was.

I watch almost all shows in batches of 8 or more.

Ditto. Much less frustrating. I decided to do this with Heroes Season 2 after seeing all the disappointed reviews.

Don't know if I should but spoiler tags on this or not, but just to be safe I will.

                                Spoiler:
Great episode. Didn't answer alot of questions but it was still engaging. At least we know now only six get off the island, and Hugo, Kate, and Jack are three of those six. Locke went from crazy to stealing Jack's leadership position, that was pretty abrupt. Ben must have a pretty good idea who is on Naomi's boat, he seemed to be very afraid for his Alex.
