Pakistanis are usually muslim, muslims are not usually Pakistanis.

            so this

"Moderate muslims, where are you at? Are you going to come out now? No? Sit back with your head it the sand some more?"

was aimed at non-Pakistani muslims? WTF? You want, Algerians, to you know, go out in the street and protest the death of a pol theyve hardly heard of, in a country far away, to show theyre not aligned with the radical Islamists who may have been involved?

Hint - one of the things that distinguishes moderate muslims, is that they are NOT pan-Islamist, and are NOT as focused on whats going on in other muslim countries.

So, when you ask where are the moderate Muslims, saying their leader in Pakistan just got killed is quite appropriate, is it not?

I mean, really, Bhutto was the premier face of a moderate Islamic leader. Strongly against terrorism, pro democracy, pro women's rights, pro human rights.

Indeed. They tend to be far more nationalist inclined.

Yes, I was talking about all muslims, which would be obvious considering what I said, as these types of events are hardly a Pakistan only problem. The willingness to run into crowds strapped with explosives, and the seeming acceptance or indifference to this by muslims worldwide, is a muslim problem.

I don't get this seeming need for moderate Muslims to apologize for every act of terrorism committed by their extremist breathern.

If you are talking about condemning. Well, as far as I know, Gordon Brown hasn't even yet condemed the murder, so maybe he's sticking his head in the sand too (let us forget its only been a few hours since the news came out)?

Though, if it makes you happy, Iran came out against it:

[q=CNN.com]In Iran, Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said in a statement, "We hope the Pakistani government will identify and bring to justice those behind such a criminal act and restore tranquility to the country." [/q]

Unless he staged it to look that way. So he could take out his main rival and blame his other rival for it.

Well, there is speculation that now the election on Jan 8 will have to be postponed, so that's good news for both Musharraf and Al Queda.

I don't think he's that stupid. But maybe he's getting desperate?

It seems that Musharraf is at least a little culpable in the fact that everyone seems to be talking about an intentional lack of adequate security.
