That's not the spirit of the thread.

That is precisely why this thread was started; even barbarians just want some love sometimes.
Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.

                  Well, thanks...to most.
Got up yesterday, got me some coffee, sat down, pulled up good ol' ACS and what's there again?
I won't go into it, but damn, I wasn't ready for it yet.

Texas has been OK so far (I grew up in Ohio, went to Va Tech for undergrad and lived in KS for five years). Been here seven years now. All the executions, etc. really do not have much impact on day to day life of a typical middle class person here. No state income tax, affordable housing, and a strong job market do, though. I could do without all the bible belt crap, but I don't dislike it enough to pay 7% state income tax again. There are a LOT of transplants here, especially in suburbia. It really is stupid hot in the summer. It is a lot more ethnically diverse than Vermont.

All in all I like it here. Except for the summer heat.

                            Texas

Going to Fort Worth, having Thanksgiving with Grandfolks, then rent car and driving down to Collegestation to see A&M beat the Hell out of t.u.

I'm thinking of a New Jersey thread next. They take a lot of abuse too.
