I guess you have to be from NY to get the Puerto Rican joke.

so what would folks think if someone named a baby bear "Jesus"?
i doubt they'd want to put someone in jail over it.

and unless the kid did mock crucifications after pounding nails into his paws, I wouldn't have any problems with it.

How do desert people even know what a bear is? There are no bears in the desert.

          Something like this maybe?

Hispanophone, though I have never seen or heard it used.

If the islamic fundies get upset over trivial issues like this, is it any wonder their faith gets less respect than even a religion deserves? You would think that Allah, being omnipotent and all that, would be a little less touchy over trademarked naming issues.

I think we need that guy who did Piss Christ to unveil his next masterpiece, Piss Muhammed. That should end the bear controversey.

I thought that was merely an anti-islamic comment because I thought you were a card-carrying believer in a Christian God of some denomination or other - so I thought I'd embellish it to encompass all religions...

I entirely accept that I could have you mixed up with someone else?

Which is another big irony: The whole “my religion is the only true religion, and all the rest are false” er, inconsistency...

Actually, while technically a Catholic, not considered a card carrying member. I only go to church for weddings and funerals. Not up to date or a big fan of most of the current dogma.

But I do seem to lean towards anti-islamic due to it's intolerance. Much worse than anything I experienced as a Catholic. Yes, its a generalization and I do know a few people that don't fit the stereotype so I have to constantly review my thoughts on it.

Well d'uh, Sudan aint no democracy. They put you in jail for LOTS of things we dont, that have no bearing on religion. They also do some really nasty things in Darfur.
