Well, I believe the producers have already stated the Colonials WILL find Earth (gotta provide closure since this is the final season), but it won't be the haven they thought it would be.

After missing out season 3 I decided to borrow the dvds from a friend and watched them all. Okay, I hope I don't get stabbed in the face for saying this but does anyone find the storyline to be incredibly convoluted at this point and rife with forced plot twists?

Seriously, every time the writers do a plot twist, they turn someone into a Cylon. I swear, by the end of the series it'll probably be something like all the BSG crew and fleet of human refugees are actually Cylon but the Cylon are really the humans! When (spoiler ahead) Tory, Colonel Tigh, Tyrol, and Anders converged in that one room and were revealed to be Cylons I just sort of rolled my eyes.

Doesn't make sense: Remember, they expect Earth to already be colonized by the Lords of Kobol(I.e. worshipers of the Greek Gods).Originally posted by Oerdin
OK, this is a stab in the dark but given that most of them believe in the Greek gods and a few are now monotheists what do you want to bet they'll find Earth but it will be something like 3000 bc and the settle in the Mediterranean? The monotheists become Jews and the polytheists Greeks.Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

Must be the result of watching everything in a short amount of time (which I wouldn't recommend with any TV show ever). We've known about the 7 regular models for ages. What was the last Cylon reveal before the Four? Cavil in mid-S2? That was over 2 years ago, we were well overdue (by the time they made that episode they probably already knew they'd only have one more season and had to hurry the f*ck up to get all 12 in before the endOriginally posted by Riesstiu IV

Sounds like you just overloaded yourself. ) And other than the Four it's not like any of the main characters have been revealed to be Cylons: up until then every model was revealed in the same episode it was first introduced IIRC, and with the exception of Boomer and Six they only appeared as guests in select episodes since. Pretty awesome season opener BTW Although I was so desperate for new content it was bound to be -- time will have to tell if it actually holds up Although I was so desperate for new content it was bound to be -- time will have to tell if it actually holds up

With this being the final season all bets are off now, there's no reason why Roslin couldn't be killed now (when Tigh shot Adama they actually had me for a second) -- considering the prophecy she's bound to die before the end. Although no, it really wouldn't make sense if this was the moment...

I think any such scenario, or in fact any scenario in which they end up on a recent-past Earth is gonna be lame and hokey and not gonna work, I would be sorely disappointed if that happened (but don't think for a second it will). What, we're gonna get a Rome-BSG crossover? That's the sort of thing I'd expect from the original series or Star Trek or something, which this show couldn't be further removed from. I think they'll either end up on a completely different Earth from how we know it (whether in the future or in an alternative universe or whatever) or on present-day Earth. The best theory I heard so far is that it's a future Earth that's been destroyed by global warming. Not necessarily sure that's exactly the right answer, but I do think it'll be something in that spirit.Originally posted by Oerdin

How about this? BSG arrives at present day Earth only to find Earth technology woefully lacking. Realizing that the presence of the Colonial fleet threatens the existence of the last outpost of humanity Adama orders the fleet to move on in the hopes of leading the Cylons away."I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!

Sci Fi is finally getting smart and is putting up the episodes on their website the same day it airs. I'd honestly guess the series is wildly popular but that something like 75% of the fans watch it on the internet.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.
