Dont blame it on the CIA, the Bushies had their own "sources" for what they called intel and they did not inform us about all the caveats that regularly accompany intel analyses. The 10 Downing Street memo said the intel was being "fixed" around invading Iraq (if that aint the smoking gun, what is?). And it wasn't the CIA or our experts at the energy dept claiming aluminum tubes were for enriching uranium around the same time Bush was making that claim (just 1 of many lies).

I cant believe you really think the Bushies were fair and honest in their assessment of the threat posed by Iraq. The UN weapons inspectors ~knew what Saddam had, and what they destroyed, but did the Bushies use them as a source of intel? Nope, they were ridiculed or smeared (what a surprise).

It says it all really, that the apologists will readily ridicule those who accuse Bush of outright lying about Iraq, but you will rarely if ever hear one of them say with their hands on their hearts that the Bushies were completely honest and on the level with their claims about Iraq. They know that there's a line they're so close to crossing, but if they do they lose any last vestiges of credibility.

Bush was dishonest about the intelligence, and the intelligence wasn't the greatest to begin with. Let's be realistic, everyone posting in this thread knows that Bush was being dishonest with his claims... he is a politician after all!

I'm not the one who said we have to invade Iraq because of WMD, so dont tell me I'm hung up on factors that have nothing to do with why we're in Iraq. Are they proud of George Bush and his cronies? Did we go with the weapons inspectors? They were on the ground destroying what Saddam had, do their opinions matter? Nope, they were ridiculed and smeared for speaking up by those good, honest souls in the White House and the GOP propaganda machine. So, now the troops are on the ground over there... Have they found the WMD? Nope, so dont use the troops to cover the Bu****.

Simple fact is Cidy Sheehan knows ****. No letters, no video diaries, no journels, no internet blogs from your sun exist. She knows her son like other people know there children. Can your mom acurately describe your positon on abortion in detail? How about what your opinion on Kensyian economics? Thought not.

Of course not, she has to ask Repubs to find out what I believe And first thing Cindy should do is report to you about her conversations with her own son. Hey *******, the burden of proof is on you! The people smearing her have to prove Casey would disapprove of her actions.

Yup, Cindy, Casey's mother, didn't know what her son believed about the war. We need you and other Repubs to tell us what he believed. Why? Because then you can use her son against her while accusing her of using her own son against his wishes.

So until SHE comes up with proof, I'll go with Casey's actions

She doesn't need to prove squat to you, but short of going AWOL what could Casey do? He re-enlisted before we invaded Iraq and his loyalty to his comrades was quite apparent, and you think that means he supported the Bu****es when he died or would support them today if he was alive?

It's not an either/or proposition. There's a large gray area between "completely honest" and "outright lying", which is where Bush's behavior fell.

You're right. But when someone indignantly attacks someone else for insulting Bush's credibility, saying that he never lied while utterly ignoring that yes, he was very dishonest, then they lose credibility too.

I don't think Bush lied, Gibsie. The Iraq still had WMD meme spanned more than just the Bush admin. So it strains credulity to assume that admins from different parties were lieing about the samething. I just think it was foolish to invade over it.

The point isn't so much if Bush lied (I think it's about 80%-20% that he knowingly lied), but that people will jump on someone for daring to call Bush a liar, when they KNOW Bush was bull****ting us all.
