    They all suck.

Having said that, I really haven't decided yet.

I have a "gah!" gut reaction to Hillary that I'm going to have to figure out.

Obama's problem is the "empty suit" thing. But I'm unconvinced that really matters much. Experienced people have been very, very wrong (or just flat out evil, depending on how you see it) lately...

Edwards isn't gonna win the nomination.

I'm annoyed at McCain for sucking up to the RR.

I'm concerned about Guiliani's autocratic tendencies.

    Romney ain't winning the nomination.

High school curriculum is decided by states and local school boards. You do know that, right?

Yeah, I should've specified I was talking about here in Utah, where public schools suck. Bad.

You realize he's a free trader, right?
So am I. I believe that governments as a policy should drop tariffs and barriers to trade because they benefit from the trade.

That doesn't mean that they relinquish the ability to control their borders and monitor what enters and leaves the country.

I'm a free trader because I believe that the more trade is conducted the more everyone benefits.

He isn't for any restrictions by the federal government. States want to ban them, they can, but if a state wants them, then they should be allowed to.
I think there is precedence for the federal government to have control over the borders, and that one of the clauses in the US is that there are not supposed to be statewide barriers to trade.

Yes, but you failed to note that he DISAGREES with that 'necessity of a federal standard'. Which is part of the reason why it is surprising you'd back him. He'd veto any attempt at a federal definition of marriage.
At the same time, he'd agree that if there was a definition that the content would be the same. He supports the DOMA, and that's enough for me.

Does Ron Paul stand a chance? He seems like the little guy to me. But he is definitely one of the better candidates, I think he has some brain power, he doesn't have to go with rhetorics, because he can actually make arguments and reasoning.

So... Ron Paul, where does he stand? Any chances against Giuliani or McCain?

No but I don't know the situation in there like this. How does these two characters of the democratic party answer my question about Republican party, that what kind of chances does Ron Paul stand? I wouldn't ask if I knew you know..

I'd vote Ron Paul over any Democrat, and I think of myself as a Goldwater Republican.

I definitely wouldnt vote for any Republican resembling Bush and Co. nor anyone that is relgious right.

yeah, but he might be able to fight against the D candidate. Then again, maybe he is too little, not known enough, so people would just rather vote someone they know?

But he doesn't want the federal government to have much control over the borders aside from people/security. Drugs wouldn't be stopped at the border in Paul's America if they were going to states that had them legalized.

At the same time, he'd agree that if there was a definition that the content would be the same. He supports the DOMA, and that's enough for me.

He supports it on states rights grounds and on those grounds, I don't see why you really care about DOMA. Any state is free to disregard a marriage from another state if it runs contrary to public policy without running afoul of the Full Faith & Credit clause already.

The other part of DOMA, where the federal government can't recognize any part of same sex marriages or unions wouldn't matter to Paul because he'd strip the feds of recognizing any marriages... especially where it mattered, like in filing taxes.

yeah, but he might be able to fight against the D candidate. Then again, maybe he is too little, not known enough, so people would just rather vote someone they know?

No, he wouldn't be able to fight against anyone. Not because he isn't well known, but because he's a bit too extreme for most people (that's putting it nicely, most, on either side, would likely call him a wacko).
