Just a correction to this: "Nothing Compares 2 U" was actually a song written by Prince for Sinead O'Connor, so if Prince sung it, he was singing his own song, which Sinead O'Connor made famous.

O'Connor collaborated with a band that Ziggy collaborated with as well... the very same band I was hinting at earlier.

Though actually, if you look at the posts, a sequence of 6 or less steps was never made on this round - finding that the Chieftains worked with Ziggy and Sinead doesn't shorten the path from the original 7.

The shortest solution that I found was through Bono - The chieftains worked with Ziggy, The chieftains also worked with Van Morison, Van Morison has performed on stage with Bono, and Bono has collaborated with Clannad.
