    It does not.

The problem is that Krill is typical of the people left playing MP. He's not a serious player, he's not even a competitive player. For me computer games are stupid without competition. It's amazing that all the players that were really bad at civ2 or played deity in civ2 think that civ4 is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Civ4 was not created with a competitive MP community in mind and it is blatantly obvious. Anyone who tries to argue otherwise is just proving my point that they're a casual gamer. When the good players from the previous installments refuse to play and all say the same thing, there's an obvious problem. As I said, I'll wait for civ5 and see if they learn from their mistakes.

Which is why you hate Fried so much. (I mean, outside being jealous of him.) Cause he's such an easy example to come up with to shoot your silly hypothesis to shreds.

EyesOfNight against Aeson or Krill in Civ4 would be a great fight to watch. EyesOfNight was the top three in a strong ladder while Krill...I don't know what he did. Aeson does not play MP.

So, if we put aside reality and accept your statement that all past implementations of Civ's SP competitions could not be "serious"... then how can Civ IV "kill off" that which never existed?

Which is easily "shot to shreds" by pointing out that Fried wasn't a good player.

I played Krill a long time ago. I spent 30min arguing with him about settings. he refused to play tiny map mirror and demanded his settings or no games. You can see the gigantic ****ing map and the total map **** it ended up to be. Which brings up another point about civ4. Guys like Krill can survive and win by settings alone in Civ4 because if you have bad land on a huge ****ing map in a 1v1 you've automatically lost.

Civ4 did not kill off anything in SP. It is clealy the best game for SP in the whole series. It solved smallpox; that is enough.

Which also brings up another point. Why did they make tech leads so god damn useless? seriously. There is absolutely no reason to get a tech lead. In fact, they make it almost impossible to get one and your advanced units aren't even cost efficient. Then they make it so that your expansion is incredibly slow due to the city costs so even a total beginner can keep pace with you. Then the combat system is so royally screwed that attacking most of the time is just plain suicide vs anyone good. The game is just one gigantic build fest which makes production resources incredibly important.

It's silly of you to be so jealous of him then.

That you say Fried wasn't a good player just shows what little credibility you have.

And another thing. Why the **** can't they get a decent interface? I mean the ****ing pace of the game is beyond slow as it is, do they really need the god damn screen to literally float and make you feel like you're in slow motion? Everything about this game just screams SLOW. I'm telling you, the PRC had a hand in making this game. They made absolutely ****ing sure everyone moved at the same pace.

Wow this thread will be locked shortly.

Okay, EyesOfNight. If what you say is true about your skill level (being in the top 10 ever) then what you say about the game is likely right. However, you might be lying to us. Can you show me something that proves your skill level? Thanks

I wish OzzyKP were here so we could once again hear about how the Mirror map was unfair too!
