  • The first night of the rest of my life.

I wrote my last exam today, finally. I will be getting my degree in another month at my convocation, a BA in history.

Been a long road but I'm so thankful to all the folks here who have helped me and encouraged me along my way.

    SO THANKS for everything!

        Sure, mock the degree.

How many of you can say that you've written a 20 page paper on the modernisation of the Russian Orthodox church under peter the great?

Drake has one too, Ben. You might want to listen

And thankfully I can say I never have and never will write such a paper.

I did one of similar length on the Benedictine reformation of the church in England, and I wasn't even doing it as part of any formal education.

Yeah, unless you go to med school, you're jolly well ****ed.

I had this totally irrational hope when I read the thread title that you had gotten laid last night.

Well, I can't say that, but I can say that I wrote a 30-page paper on why the conflicting nature of the crusader Godfrey of Bouillon (pious vs. sanguinary) was not a contradiction in the Middle Ages.

                            Gotta love history degrees.

For myself, it was 30+ pages on physically deforming diseases throughout the middle ages (plague, leprosy, syphilis) and the cultural responses to them.
