Which comedy team was better, Laurel and Hardy or Abbott and Costello?
I havent seen all that much of either, but I tend to enjoy Abbot and Costello more.

There seems to be several sects of Messanic Jews in the US who believe Jesus was the son of ***.Is this catching on in the rest of the world?Or is it just reformist hogwash ?
Im not sure its really catching on here. My impression is that most Jews who convert to Christianity join regular churches, and most of the folks at Messianic Jewish congregations are Gentiles who are "into" things Jewish. I dont know, but I doubt its common elsewhere.
I dont know what you mean by reformist in this context. Do you mean Reform Judaism? Reform Judaism is just as much troubled by this sort of thing as the other trends in Judaism are.

Is 'Poly capable of honest, sincere discussion, or is it just a troll-fest?
Depends on the topic. I hear its a great place to discuss certain turn based strat games Even OT can be fine, if youre discussing what RAM chip to buy, or different kinds of cider.

erm... excuse me this thread is about Lord of the Mark, and just happens to be the BEST "ask" thread i have EVER had the pleasure of reading... so with that said...
LotM,
what is your favorite song? piece
Oh dear, I dont know I have on favorite song. I like classic rock, including the Beatles, I like lot of stuff from the 70s and early 80s. After the late 80s pop music is mainly a blur. I also like Bway musicals.
Would it be a copout to say "Hey Jude"? Or "Born in the USA"?

I'll rephrase. Is 'Poly OT capable of honest, sincere discussion, (beyond food and tech discussions) or is it just a troll-fest?

Controversial issues tend to draw trolls. Its sometimes possible to have a serious discussion on an issue that isnt at the top of public concern at the moment - take for example my discussion with Ancyrean about Turkish security concerns wrt Iraqi Kurdistan. Somehow the folks who troll most werent all that interested in that.
But on the most controversial issues, the only way to have a good discussion tends to be to focus on those individuals you can have one with, and ignore the rest. On the ME, theres one poster who isnt a troll, whos views are quite sincerely held, but whose assumptions and attitudes and even styles are so at variance with my own, that we have a difficult time not looking like a flamefest when we discuss the ME. Neither of us is going to persuade the other, and likely neither of us will persuade many third parties, at least not when we're going after each other. While I sometimes cant resist, Ive endeavoured to avoid getting into those sorts of things with him.
Myself I prefer to post factual current items on the most controversial issues, and avoid the historical discussions of fault that trolls tend to favor, but sometimes thats hard to do.
