Because you're a convert. You never grew up being Catholic. Being Catholic is more than just a belief system. It's a way of life. I think they covered it well in "30 Rock," you have to have the constant crushing guilt. I just don't see how a convert can attain that. It's something that you have to grow up with.

Plus, I don't think you really hate protestants. Sure, you'll say hi to them and get along all chummy with them. But deep in your gut, you know they're going to Hell and deserve it.

I grew up catholic and never had a guilt. It's always the protestants telling me that I will go to hell because all Catholics go to hell since it isn't real xianity.

Another very good friend has told me the same that she doesn't consider me to be a Catholic because I haven't grown up with the faith.

I can't change my upbringing, and I realise that it is far different for someone who has been born and raised Catholic.

I admit I'm learning and that I am a convert. I really wish I could have had that lifestyle and I haven't been happy since the last time I got to share that kind of life.

Yes, there should be some sort of baptism-like act for that. If they can get rid of original sin, they can cleanse that taint.
