I always get problems loading a thread on Poly (with Safari), where it only loads the quick reply box. I refresh, and the page usually displays properly. This problem didn't always exist, and I remember other people complaining about it.

A larger Civ3 and (especially) Civ4 modding community happened to grow around CFC. To hazard a guess as to why, Thunderfall was always pretty good at announcing new mods on the main civfanatics site, which must have drawn in users over the seach engines, where those new postings are prominent - the apolyton.net site, on the other hand, is sometimes hard to navigate, while new content remains relatively hidden in a bland looking news menu.

Whatever the reason, more modders means more content, which will always draw more users.
