Perhaps I should have said in the American context.
Well, I see my fair share of American liberals on 'Poly, and no one strikes me as being a jingoistic hawk.

I hope you realize that Poly doesn't represent America, Spiffor
It's tough to say, really, because he hardly ever takes a position on anything.
I honestly don't know how I got that reputation.

Not of America as a whole, that's for sure. But I think it's fairly representative of that part of middle-class America that is interested in politics (at least when it comes to liberals).

Because you almost always post one-liners. Occasionally, you post an article that you comment only with a one-liner. And very rarely, you post more than one line, where we can guess your opinion.
I can think of only three opinions of yours:
- you were against the Iraq war because it went against US interests
- you dislike Roe vs Wade because you want the abortion debate to be handled by the political sphere (on the state level) rather than by the judicial sphere.
- the practice of abducting suspected terrorists in Europe is a bad thing, because of the image hit.
As well as some things about WH40k, Star wars and Star Trek that I'd know if I read those threads more closely

I don't think being patriotic or being for a strong defense policy is a conservative only trait myself. Or at least I'd hope that it isn't.

I think you do come across as a one-line sniper, without often laying your own position down to be shot at. I expect this is where your reputation comes from.
Come on DD, I'm throwing down the gauntlet. All you ever do is call me whiny or loony, which really doesn't mean anything. Do you dislike me because of the way I treat people? I don't think so, that doesn't seem to be you. Is there some difference in opinion that I have with Che and/or Spiffor?
