Chicago Poly Meet, take 2

I'm making a second attempt to fly to Chicago in March. I'm scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, March 7, and I'll go to St. Charles on Sunday, March 11.

I was thinking we could organize a Poly meet on Friday, March 9 or on Saturday, March 10. Any takers?

Either a Lunch on Friday downtown... or possibly a Friday evening at my place... either would work for me.

I think a lot depends on your available time/transportation.

Since these are basically vacation days for me before I go to St. Charles, I'm available all day. It's likely I'll be staying in a hotel downtown.

I'm probably going to spend the Wednesday and Thursday strolling around, filling my suitcase with things and stuff

I will be in santa fe march 3-8 but should be back by then.

So it really comes down to... do we want to do a lunch (I would suggest the Billy Goat Tavern - SNL fame) or do we do Friday evening at my place...

How far do you live from the downtown area, Ming?

35 miles north of the city... I do work in the city, so I can drive you out... you can spend the night, and then I can put you on a train back into the city on Saturday.

If you have a car, you can drive out, spend the night (unless you plan on staying sober) and then drive back in the morning

FYI, I don't drink (... wine) so I can be a designated sober driver if needed. Though I don't actually own a *car* per se, so it'd have to be someone else's car that ends up in the city somewhere that I can redline/bus/etc. from

I'd prefer a get-together at Ming's, rather than driving downtown on a Friday. (Of course, I live near Ming and work from home...)
