  • 1. Jack Bauer: ain't no family reunion like a Bauer family reunion.
    2. Hamri Al-Assad: on his way to Washington; I hope we haven't seen the last of him.
    3. Chief of Staff Tom Lennox: hate his politics, but he is growing on me.
    4. Abu Fayed: planning on using all four remaining suitcase nukes in LA? Wouldn't be my plan.
    5. Bill Buchanan: continues to be Best CTU Boss Ever, which is damning faint praise.
    6. Nadia Yassir: I'd like to see her get something to do, but she's still hot.
    7. Walid Al-Rezani: dude is about to get a shiv for his trouble.
    8. Chloe O'Brian: how did Chloe, the high-functioning Asperger's patient, get to be our emotional touchstone?
    9. National Security Adviser Karen Hayes: I just expect more of her; at least try to get Wayne to grow a pair.
    10. President Wayne Palmer: lame-ass delivery of that speech, dude.
    11. Marilyn Bauer: I've always been a sucker for the ice princess look, though this storyline is obviously going to be annoying.
    12. Milo Pressman: ....yup, still skeevy.
    13. Morris O'Brian: ...yup, still annoying.
    14. Sandra Palmer: stop being so shrill, and just do something already!
    15. Graham/Graem Bauer: this unmitigated toolbox is somehow a criminal mastermind? You ****ting me? Leaving aside the whole brother thing.
    ......
    2657. Kim
    2658. Kim-threatening cougar
2659. Josh Bauer: this kid is clearly going to end up a hostage within the next 3 episodes, and the writers won't even have the good sense to kill him.

Likely to be ranked next week: Jack's dad

Possibly ranked next week, if they continue to be semi-important: Darren McCarthy, Fayed's nuke guy (who definitely would have been ranked had be been played by Eddie Izzard, as originally planned); Darren's ho; that FBI Agent who is pissing off Sandra; and Salim, the interned terrorist Walid is getting close to.

Rankings pending possible returns: Charles Logan, Martha Logan, Audrey Raines, Mike Novick, Aaron Pierce, James Heller--any one of whom would be automatic top 6 at this point.

    Please, God, no: Kim Bauer.

My wife and I were laughing about that also.

Yes, love the plot twist with his brother. Competing for the same woman has always been a good motive for their kind of brotherly love. And yes, if that's really Jack's kid, I hope he quickly goes the way of Kim "MISSING from the current season"

      • Damn. Captured before noon. And I was so sure next week (12:00 to 1:00 pm) would be a nice "Jack has lunch" episode...

        • So who's the big villain? Jack's Dad or the Russian guy? How much longer can we avoid Kim?

          • This show certainly has gone down hill fast. The last season was brilliant, but believability has now been ruptured.

No government on Earth would submit to the demands of terrorists. When I can no longer believe the characters of a fictional setting are acting in a logically consistent manner, the entire thing thing unravels.

              • 1. The have a working morgue at CTU HQ?
                2. They put Graeme's body in there without rifling it for evidence?
                3. They let Dad in there without an observer?
                4. They're under nuclear attack, spot an unknown helicopter taking off within 3 minutes of the bad guys' hangout, and they can't track it?

Oh well, at least the soon-to-be-dead President's annoying sister stayed away tonight...

                • You know, if you can ignore the ridiculous family Bauer, this season is quite good. The action last night was very exciting.

                        • Is the new season better than the last one? They just finished S5 here recently and I decided that it wasn't that good.

                            • I just hope that Al-Assad sticks around. I can imagine him running around the underground complex with Wayne in tow.

Bebro: I'm surprised you didn't like S5, I thought it was much stronger than S4 or S3, largely thanks to the very cool bad guys.

Why? We've seen that plot at least once already.
