It's a fact that they killed the kid.

Whether it was manslaughter is a legal battle I'm not concerned about, given the state it's in. People in the south are all like Sloww -- bloodthirsty and vengeful against horrible "thugs" like this. I wouldn't be surprised if they ordered the kids body chopped up into bitesize pieces then boiled in a vat of acid prepared by Mexican illegals.

Wasteful. Use lye so that you can render the fat (PS3 playing POS should have plenty) into soap and glycerin compounds.

Well, early signs are not encouraging. I remember the whole Stockwell tube shooting...it was difficult to judge what had happened with the initial shock and publicity. It transpired that the police had been so incompetent as to disgust the country - shooting someone because they look 'a bit foreign'. And still justice has never really happened with countless person after person passing on the responsibility. It could well be the same here, but I am curious what the circumstances are for the police to send an armed team to intercept this person and then cause a bloodbath. As you know, I am not usually the type to give the police the benefit of the doubt - the first example demonstrates why.

I'd wait for the investigation to end before making judgements...

Though, I'd imagine, that as these SWAT-types are trained to kill, I'd also imagine they are trained to asses situations and act accordingly, not killing for flimsy, or no reason.

To be fair it's not real SWAT, it's a bunch of deputies in a small town.

I find it rather inconcivable that a SWAT team would be so horribly incompetent as to not do any kind of survalance on the targets in the place their about to storm. Are they realy going to claim that they though a Playstation controler was a pistol. Its the very piece of property their investigation is looking for, are they going to say they hadn't considered the suspect might be using the stolen property at the time?

Whereas you assume they are guilty, end of story. None of that "innocent until proven" crap for you.

                    A: Um...yeah probably.

Are you kidding me? If this kid had stolen an X360, he'd have got a beating at worst. You've got to steal some quality merchandise to get gunned down by a SWAT team. What they don't tell you is that the PS3s survived the shooting; Sony's looking into the possibilities of slogans such as "Even .45cal won't stop a Cell."

Obviously the officers observed the perp with a phaser-like weapon in his hand, and feeling they were in danger, opened fire.

I hope that was a joke. Plastic phaser vs. automatic rifles and body armor= justified homicide?
