By your arguments in the other thread, the roommates should also have been killed. Hell, these kids are bigger and older than the drunken teenager in the basement!

I argued with you you in the other thread and maintain my position when it comes to a homeowner startled in their own home.

But here we have trained police that have time to plan an assault ( and thats the first issue-- why do you need SWAT to arrest someone for this). These people are supposed to be trained for these situatoons and had time to reflect on what they might face and are wearing body armour.

The only way I could see a shooting being justified is if he were actually holding a gun-- But that goes back again to the necessity of the assualt. If these police just phones in and said they needed everyone to come out with their hands up, that would be that.

Asher -- this has almost no commonality factually with the beaten teen scenario in the other thread. I think here the police have some explaining to do.

I think you can blame the violence on too much counterstrike playing by the SWAT team.

but they were hardly blameless, even with what we know.

We know nothing except what Asher, the advocate of criminal behavior, posted here.
            It's being investigated.
You quote from the article an excerpt describing a man [Raines] being robbed. Now, when you say "they were hardly blameless, even with what we know" IMMEDIATELY following this quote, are you going to deny that by "they", you refer to Peyton Strickland [and the other suspect, Ryan Mills, who lived somewhere else]? Who have not been tried and found guilty in a court of law, of anything?

In fact, the article states Strickland has no criminal record, so just what is it "that we know" to show "they were hardly blameless" for getting shot?

It says they beat on the person they stole it from.
                They have no PREVIOUS record.
Damn, Verto. What do you do all day at North Texas? Try to look up girl's dresses?

This is going to be a pretty hefty lawsuit.

I'm a big a fan of the police as any defense attorney can be, but this is just outrageous. 2 weeks between the alleged robbery and the search warrant execution, and going into the house guns blazing? Bang up job. They did enough investigating to locate the address, but they couldn't stake out the house to see who/what they were dealing with? What a fubar.

Gay or not, he quotes me and can't comprehend.
I said after an investigation, and I also said the cops were likely excessive. HOWEVER the little douche bag wouldn't have been in that situation if he hadn't assaulted someone.

I thought the problem was he stole a PS3?

Look, how many PS3's do you think actually made it to Canada? Given that, the odds that the PS3 they had was the same that Raine bought are astronomical
