We believe that every man has the right to become what he can achieve and should have the opportunity to do so.

Socialists hate freedom because it leads to disparities of wealth. They deny that everyone is born equal and has an opportunity to succeed. To the Socialist, you are born rich or poor or middle class and cannot do anything to change that status. Thus, in the the Socialist mind, the rich are unfairly rich and unfairly consume resources and exploit the poor and the middle class.

Thus the Socialist will rig the system against the rich (or simply shoot them), and deny everyone else the opportunity to succeed. Socialists are the ultimate evil because they hate success and oppose freedom.

It looks like the French NAZIs have joined with the Islamic Fascists agains the Jews. I would have thought that they would have joined with the Jews against the Arab invaders - er, immigrants, as that seems to be the reason for Le Pen's political success.

The founding fathers did have a problem with slavery, indeed. But beyond that, they did sign the Declaration of Independence and it speaks for itself. Later, they went a long way to assuring that all were created equal by banning Nobility.

As to your dismissal of my so-called rant, it is clear we do not see eye to eye on the "true" nature of socialism, as I see it as evil and you clearly embrace it as good.

OK, it was a matter of mere moments.

Antisemitism used to be fairly prominent among Americans. I remember being taught all the best Jew jokes and I remember a time when people used to freely lament being "jewed" over this or that. Antisemitism became frowned upon when the conflict between Israel and the Arabs became a proxy war for the conflict between the US and the SU. It was at that time that the big name evangelists started professing their love for Israel.

Technically, but he did not consider himself Jewish. His grand-pappy was a rabbi, but his father converted to Lutheranism to be able to get a job with the Prussian state. Even so, a vastly disproportionate number of our leaders were and are Jews.

Ned, what about women? Indians? Free blacks? Non-merchant, non-landholding white men? Were any of those groups equal enough to get the right to vote in the early days of the republic? Why is it that conservatives have fought ever single extension of the franchise? Why do conservatives fight every attempt to extend civil rights to the excluded? It was conservatives who led the fight against the ERA. It is conservatives who fight against the legal right of gays to marry. It was conservatives who tried to stop civil rights. It was conservatives who tried to keep unions from being legal.
