Why would a married guy want to go to a nudie bar? A friend said it's because their single buds want to go, but is that the real reason?
    To drink.

you can drink cheaper at a regular bar.

In fact, many nudie bars (I feel silly saying nudie bar- but Al Bundy says it, so it's cool) in my city don't serve alcohol.

Dis, If I want a drink and quiet conversation with associates, I go to a regular bar. If I want to drink and meet girls, I go to a club. If I just want a drink and nothing more, I go to a nudie bar (or a sports bar) so I can rest my eyes while drinking.

          • However, I gave up drinking years ago, so it has been a while since I've seen a dancing girl.

I suppose I just see a difference between thinking something and doing something. Of course thinking something can lead to doing that something, but generally thats where self control comes in.

As is often the case, misquoting leads to misunderstanding. He says that looking with lust in the heart = adultery. The point is that adultery is something that comes from within the heart. It doesn't "just happen" to you. If you feed it all but the physical act, you really haven't got hold of what purity is.

I'd also like to note that I watch a fair bit of TBN (trinity broadcasting network) so when I refer to christian its generally TBN to which I'm referring too.

Well then no wonder your thinking is screwed up. That's like watching Star Trek and assuming you're learning about science.

I never said it just happens to you. I'm just saying that the reasoning that looking with lust in the heart = adultery is faulty. Sure, it may make it more likely that you will commit adultery but one does not lead to the other. And that whole purity thing is nice and all but yeah, whatever floats your boat.

I was making a specific reference to a specific interpretation of Christianity and explaining it through what you quoted. Congratulations your interpretation differs and is probably a whole heap more reasonable then theirs.

"That whole purity thing" is what Christianity is all about. Anybody can memorize rules. Christianity is having the heart changed to manifest the rules from within.

I just couldn't resist the apt comparison between the two.
