Calgary's powerplay has been pathetic all season. I actually groaned each time we got a powerplay tonight.
The shots on goal number is misleading...the chances were hugely lopsided. Roloson played very very well tonight, but there's no way you could call him the better goaltender after that first goal he let in..."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Looks like Calgary is going to be battling for that 8th playoff spot this year. They've just been sinking like a rock since getting to the Finals. Without Kiprusoff, they wouldn't even be in playoff contention.

Just to really make Asher's Fizzling Flamers day I thought I would point out how his Yahoo team is doing
but it would be much worse if the Sharks would get away from their rotating goalie strategy. Once again they are playing Nabakov (and again it turns out against a top team) and once again they are losing 
When will they start playing Toskala in the important games? I would be happy with a 66% - 33% split.
Oh well, up against the Flammers this week it shouldn't matter anyway

Not a bad game and not an unexpected result as all. I was happy enough. Even though they lost, the Flames had a reasonable effort and had slightly the better of the chances. Rollie was VERY good.
Its the nature of the NHL -- you win some and lose some and in most years the best teams win on average 2 of 3. The Oilers sucked for 45 out of 60 minutes. They got outworked, outhit, and plain old outplayed.
The difference was Rolie is hot, the Flames PP sucks, and Kipper served dinner to Sykora with a juicey rebound for the GWG.
Any given night, that game could have gone either way, easily. I'm happy the Oilers won, but I'm not happy with how 19 of the guys on the ice played.(\__/)
