  • Still remember my last season loss.. I think it was 50 euros on one game. Flames vs Canucks, and Vancouver was stinking the arenas at that period, they were playing their last games on the road.. Flames for all I got, sure.

4-2, Flames leading, one MINUTE left. So, totally BS calls by the ref, suddenly it's PP by Canucks and Salo scores from the blueline with a nice slapshot. Well, so what.. it's not like they'll score another one.. Well, exactly the same situation, Salo again with a slapshot and Kipper surrenders. It was like they played that exact same scenario twice in a row, everything was exactly the same. So... there it went.. I was supposed to get double back but didn't.. Now I'm hoping for something.

My strategy is to put all the money on line 3 times. This is the first round. No matter what money comes in, I'll turn it back 100%. So if I get to the last round, the bet will be atleast few hundred euros on one game, and could be twice that as well. Should make it exciting

    • Kipper was asked how he picked up his play the past few weeks:

"I've been stopping the puck more."

On a game day, the six-foot-one, 195-pound netminder will spend about three hours stretching - 45 minutes before and after the morning's game-day skate and the game.

Right up there with "If we want to win, we got to put the puck in the net."

Europeans goalies = none too bright.

You realize a lot of goalies do that. Eddie led the way. Yoga before and after the game, plus going on the bike every day. There's a reason why Eddie is still playing at 42.

          • I didn't realize a lot of goalies stretch for three hours a day. In fact, the reason is because most do not.

            • Did you see the Leafs game last night? It was such an offensive scoring rout that it was hard to keep track of who was winning almost the entire game!

I knew it'd be such an awesome game, what with the awesome teams of BOSTON and TORONTO going head to head. The excitement was only exceeded by the Chicago/Phoenix match later that night!@W OWOWO!

              • Can't get a break.. Atlanta lost their home game and Lehtonen was stinking the arena so bad he had to leave after the first period, letting 3 in.. what a bastard, why did he start that when I have MY money on the game?

Now, my far reach is turning out to be exactly that.. first shot on Hawks net and.. scoooooores...

Yeah.. I've been having an impressive betting history with the NHL, my last 5 games, if Hawks ends up losing this one which they'll do, .. last 5 games all wrong .

                Yay me.

That rat bastard nye is trying to job you. I'll bet he just picked the player up to dangle in front of you. I'll bet... oh, wait. Did you say OK?

                              • Fun time reading this thread. Joncha seems to dislike the reality of an arrogant (and therefore deservingly vulnerable) foreigner being exposed as an aggresive pretender. Let's go a little further into this to explore Tingkai's true understanding, nay - heritage of hockey, shall we?

Stanley Cup wins by the Flames:1
                                Enough said.
                                - Calgary: Playing hockey since 1980.
A.) Toronto Maple Leafs worth based on a heritage rating, one primarily supported from decades of play in a SIX TEAM LEAGUE
B.) Edmonton Oilers - Playing NHL hockey one year earlier than the Flames. Quickly became the modern icon of Canadian hockey, ousting the Flames and Canadiens to second and third best teams in the league throughout the mid and late 80's. The Leafs cement their names in modern hockey as a sub-mediocre complacency wreck which has YET to recover. Less self respecting Leafs fans and aggressive immigrants alike point to a "heritage" of years they weren't even in Toronto (or ALIVE) during
C.) Tingkai: Living in Canada since (?)

Seriously, it's quite positive that you're making an effort to fit in with the receiving culture around you, but is it not simple enough to cheer "go-team" of your receiving city? Perhaps to stop confrontationally squawking a poor understanding of what's still a relatively foreign sport to you?

No Canadian raised citizen I've thus far talked hockey with has voiced this level of venom and lunatic bias towards any team, let alone the sheer hack bitterness old TK seemed to pick up from the gutter of an Alberta fearing, "urbaine" Toronto

So Tingkai, how long have you been in this country? How long, within that stay - have you been watching hockey?
