ture, and I do have both my goalies and 3 other players on tonight. You just have one....

Hopefully Edmonton can have a high scoring game this afternoon and I can catch up in one category (goals??) but at this point it look highly unlikely I will get a point.

You have a pretty good roster, but there is a certain amount of luck involved for skater stats as you can never tell who's going to be hot or not any given week.

Goalies are a whole other category.

        • Reflections on Saturday

Vancouver -- probably deserved a better fate against Calgary but I think Luongo let them down a little. he wasn't bad and all the goals were decent enough but 2 of them were stoppable. The team looked good and competed hard throughout despite the loss.

Calgary-- Keeps on rolling. Saturday was all about Iginla. He scored Calgary's first goal on a brilliant effort that got Calgary back into the game and was the main reason behind the second as it was his hard work that led to the goal. Kipper was key though. He held Calgary in and made the crucial stops.

So Calgary wins four in a row but I remain troubled. They continue to not generate enough offensively and to me, Reghr still does not seem to be as strong as previous years.

Montreal-- Wow they looked bad against Toronto for the second straight time. The difference was this time, Toronto did not allow a comeback. I still believe that Montreal needs a bit more size and toughness.

Toronto-- They are starting to make a believer of me as their D and tenders step it up. Their early season goals against was atrocious but they have really improved that and I am beginning to see them as more of a solid playoff pick than I did before.

Ottawa-- this team is proving once again that above all else you need reliable goaltending . They don't seem to have that and they are hurting. I would look for them to make a goaltender move and depending on whatthey give up, that should be enough for them to secure a playoff spot

Edmonton-- Their recent "suckage " continues. I have to believe that their offence can turn it around although I would be unsurprised if their d has some struggles throughout the season

Overall, we have 6 teams here that COULD make the playoffs. I would love to see all 6 make it but its been weird season. Who would have bet on Ottawa being the worst of the Canadian teams?

Already having them, but they do not get the attention because of the snake-bit forwards.

Not I, but it is early still.

What? Everyone's been calling out Edmonton's D as pathetic that I know -- they can't get the puck out of their end.

What a horrible GM Lowe is, such an unbalanced team that it's hobbled.

Not I, but it is early still.
True- I have not given up on the Sens yet (nor proclaimed the Leafs as playoff locks) but we are coming up on the quarter mark of the season and you can start to take stock

its interesting how the Flames,Nucks and Oil are all clumped together in the standings now through very different streaks--I'd like to think they all have the necessary ingredients to be playoff teams but that means one of these must falter

                1 ANAHEIM* 18 13 1 4
                2 DETROIT* 16 11 4 1
                3 MINNESOTA* 16 11 5 0
                4 SAN JOSE 18 13 5 0
                5 DALLAS 16 12 4 0
                6 NASHVILLE 15 10 4 1

When 10-4-1 is good for 6th place, you know it will be tough sledding. The only "good" news is that there is really only Colorado that also looks like a contender unless there is a big surprise.

So 8 spots for 10 teams perhaps ??

                  • By the by, eight straight victories for the Wings, two straight shutouts for Hasek.

I know Hasek has no more than about another month left in him, but the Wings and I will ride that wave as long as it lasts.

                    • Good to see the Oil bounced back with a win tonight, although I missed almost all of the the game on TV. Sounds like Smytty stepped up again--only to get a knee-on-knee cheap-shot in the last minute. Very unfortunate, although I don't think Liles had intent to injure. Still, it was careless.

Hopefully we can have a good 7-game homestand now, but I think that'll depend on how Smytty recovers (and if we ever weasel a D-man out of some place).

They played more physical tonight. Hopefully the Liles hit will bump that up a bit more without getting stupid.

ya-- the OIl needed a good effort to try to turn around the momentum a bit

Oh and the Sens suckage continues-- They lose sure but 6-3. I'm happy since it was my Habs winning sure but again they don't get a good outing from Gerber. Goaltending . . . if you don't have it , you are screwed
