Of course its fun to be right -- and if you didn't take some of your opinions to the extreme, you would be right more often ( but perhaps being right in that way isn't as much fun??)

    • Bland, agreeable opinions are incredibly boring. Forums like these are fun because of people taking extreme positions and bashing them together.

          • I dunno, how are they doing? I need to look. I'm not following the NHL.

So you are saying its more fun to be inflammatory than it is to be right ??

Calgary had the same crappy start as last year.

Why don't you look recently, where NJ has been losing games repeatedly and Calgary winning...

                  Iginla: 12G 14A +5
                  Gionta: 10G 7A -7

There are varying degrees of right. You can still be right by cranking up the extreme.

For instance: Markus Naslund is the worst captain in the NHL.

Yeah, and they were bounced out of the playoffs in the first round despite having the best goaltender in the league... SNAP!

True by a whole 2 points -- wow-- Thats a credit to the NJ dmen and Brodeur or perhaps a result of the general mediocrity of the east combined with heavily unbalanced schedules.

Bottom line is that I wouldn't make much comparison based on the record or a west team versus an east team when you consider that only 10 games out of 82 are with the other conference. Quite simply they are in different leagues

Finished first in the division with over 100 pts.

Team is better this year. Give the rookie coach some time to figure out the team, and watch it go up.

So they will lose in the second round of the playoffs then.

Or wait... they'll get a better record, but still lose in the first round. That sounds more likely.

yup and they won't succeed in the playoffs this year without some additional scoring compared to last year. That scoring does seem to be coming around . . Iginla is better than last year and Tanguay is really coming around. Huselius is frustrating in his inconsistency but can look the most offensively gifted player on the team. The otehrs are chipping in here and there.

I would still like them to acquire that playmaking centre or get some offense somewhere (perhaps Dustin Boyd after a LOT more seasoning-- or a late season dump from a non-playoff team).
