Yes, that's a valid criticism. I put them more in the #11 camp, based on what I saw in watching their games the last 2 weeks.

I also put ND above Fla this week based on what I have seen the last several weeks. Fla's SOS is slightly higher than ND's.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. • Btw, just to **** with everyone I was thinking of putting Rutgers #1 .

      • Rutgers would have had a much smaller pop in the rankings with me, if they had beat Louisville a week earlier. The fact is that this weekend cleared away much of Rutgers' competition in the 6-10 range.

I agree, how can BYU win 55-7 and be dropped 1 in the poll?!?!?!?!?!

            • By the way, I'm really surprised at how weak Fla's offense is. If they don't pick it up, they'll get housed by Arkansas. Arkansas probably will get beat by LSU a week earlier, on the other hand, leaving us with no 1-loss SEC teams.

                • LSU is a strange team to me. Or more to the point, its QB is strange. Russell is very inconsistent. Sometimes, he has eye-popping numbers. Like yesterday completing 86% of his passes.

You didn't think the win against WVU was among the most impressive of the year for any team so far? I guess WVU isn't known for their defense, but I thought that was a quality win. Louisville's better than Cal, anyway. What did you see in Cal's games that didn't make you think "they SUCK"?

They're the most talented team in the SEC (hence their spot in my rankings), but you're definitely right about Russell's inconsistency. That and their unlucky schedule is the reason they've lost two games...

No. Of course not. Are you on coke?

You mean like the Pac-10, after top-10 team Cal beats USC?

Plus, I think loses against Arizona and OSU (beavers) should count double.

I did! I don't think it was #1, but it was among the best.

That scenario is quite possible. I don't think it will happen quite like that (more of a chance that USC will lose to ND), but it's still definitely possible. Who knows, USC could end up with 3 losses.

                              • My dream scenario: Cal beats USC. USC beats Notre Dame. LSU beats Arkansas. Florida beats Arkansas in the SEC Championship Game. Then you have some fun chaos. Though in that situation, I'm sure the pollsters will just have Michigan play OSU again in the title game, blech.
