  • Wow, Auburn getting trounced by the 'Dawgs.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

That can help clear things up a bit... if they can finish it up.

      • FWIW, Joe Dailey has thrown two end zone interceptions in the game against GT. GT got a BS pass interference call to help them out of a 3rd and 20, and went on to score their only points so far. This game could easily be 14 - 0 UNC, but nope! GT: 7-0

        • Auburn's gonna lose to Georgia. This game is over.

Clemson refuses to pull away from NC State.

GT can't pull away from UNC. edit: 7 points was all they needed. UNC had a great day on defense but a terrible day on offense. Two end zone interceptions were the biggest offensive miscues. Oh well!

          • Georgia is kicking the everliving crap out of Auburn.. guess that makes Arkansas and LSU happy (easier for them to win the SEC West).

Sad about UNC though . I dislike Georgia Tech.

Marshall trip delayed by engine smoke

              November 10, 2006

CEREDO, W.Va. (AP) -- A charter plane carrying the Marshall University football team to a game against East Carolina was evacuated after smoke was reported in an engine, airport officials said.

The flight took off after a two-hour delay and no injuries were reported among the 150 people aboard, but the timing was eerie.

Almost 36 years ago to the day, on Nov. 14, 1970, a plane carrying the Marshall football team home from a game against East Carolina crashed, killing 75 people, including most of the team. A movie about the rebuilding of Marshall's football program after the crash is scheduled to open nationwide on Dec. 22.

Marshall's sports information director at the time, Gene Morehouse, died in that crash.

On Friday, his son Keith Morehouse was aboard the Boeing 727 headed for the game in Greenville, N.C. The jet, originally scheduled to leave Tri-State Airport at 11 a.m., took off at 1:25 p.m.

"I don't think it's as big a deal as some people are trying to make," Morehouse said before reboarding the plane for takeoff. He is now sports director of WSAZ-TV in Huntington.

Alpa Shah, director of operations for the Tri-State Airport Authority, said excess fuel burning off one of the engines caused the smoke.

"These things happen," said Cabell County Sheriff Kim Wolfe, who was providing security for the team. "It's just ironic, the timing of this one."

              Kind of an eerie coincidence.......

              ACK!

                  • Wisconsin wins again. Now they are 10-1. They have an easy game next week and should finish 11-1. But they don't even have a shot at a BCS game much less the national title.

                    The BCS sucks.

Hell, the entire Bowl system sucks.

                              • No, it will just make the national picture more defined as OSU-Mich.
