  • YAHHHH!

Thankfully the defense was dominate and Schiano's playing it 'cute' early on (passing a ton) didn't hurt Rutgers as they remembered they are a running team in the 4th Q!!!

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Not after Rutgers loses to WVU. The Big East is like a miniature SEC for this year (and only this year). People should really be looking back and noticing how UNC (of all programs) almost beat Rutgers, except for a BS turnover or two (1 on the 1 yard line after a run play should've been called dead).

Louisville's defense disappeared after the first quarter, possibly distracted by how stupid that Rutgers 3rd down guitar gesture is or how fat all the Joiseyites are.

We're going to see two OSU - Mich games. We might get OSU - Florida or something, but somehow I doubt it.

          • BYU is turning into the team I remember from the 80's.

            BYU 55, Wyoming 7.

Yes, Rutgers will lose to West Virginia.

            ACK!

Don't be really suprised if we see a second OSU - Texas game this year.

                • An Ohio State - Texas rematch is the most likely one at this point. Still a lot of football to be played, though...

                    Probably

                    It's at WVU.

                      • I told you guys this. Louisville is a paper tiger. Waiting to get knocked over.

But this is the start of a long story at Rutgers. This team is not a flash in the pan. They are coming back every year and contending.

I would call Rutgers top 10 material. Louisville, maybe top 20. Rutgers still could drop the ball at Cincy or West Virginia (here's hoping they don't) but this is their moment. Imran can be proud, if RU does everything they need to, they are in a BCS bowl - after the last few seasons being the laughing stock of college football. And they will be just as successful next year.

Now for Boise State to get knocked off, and the paper tiger undefeateds will be history...

                        • I have to read up on the BE rules, but I wonder what happens if WVU beats Rutgers (which I think may happen). I know some conferences break a 3 way tie by using final BCS ranking.

That's exactly how it would go.

Such a scenario would most likely benefit West Virginia, since they'd be coming up with the last big win.

They lost by three on the road to an 8-0 team. That's hardly an exposure. Rutgers just proved that they are a good team, too.
