In that case I'd probably go back to the 70s. I was born in '76, though, so does that disqualify me? Maybe the 60s... though I would like to avoid Vietnam (yes, I know it dragged into the 70s). Who wouldn't?
Failing that, I guess 200bc-200AD... I'd try and pick a relatively peaceful time for the Roman Empire and settle down somewhere within that.
