For some reason there are loads of Hummers here in Cardiff, the pink stretch 'Hummersine' is my favourite one for OTT twattiness...

There's also a Black one with 'AREA 51' Nevada plates...

        How utterly vulgar and tasteless...

PH, I recommend that you don't buy a new car before you've answered this question and have waited for a few days for some answers... if we won't know your needs in a car, this thread serves you as only as our newest "what's your favorite car" -poll of Apolyton.

yeah its cheap enough around dartford end of kent though. I dont know how much insurence is going to pay out, but its going to be 1/10 -1/5th of the capital/despoit/ fees etc needed to get a 100k flat?

Well I need a car to get around, you know...getting to work in the morning and getting around in general...although I may wait a while before I get another car though...

And even around here, you'll get bugger all for 100k...

Living in London? If you need a car to move around, again: get a Smart for two. Light, takes very little parking space, very agile in it's movement, pretty much the cheapest car to upkeep with your needs. You can travel around England in it, too, but it gets kinda noisy in the inside when it's moving >100 km/h.

Well that's great considering my drive to work is, for the most part, over 100km/h

well A quick search on rightmove shows a 2 bed split level maisonette in dartford for 100k, plus a bunch of other flats and so on for similar prices. Dartford has a frequent mainline hub type station to get into london, though it is sadly ticket barriered.

It would be a expensive and a pain to get the train to visit up north though.

I cant see car drivers willingly giving up their car though once they have got used to them so I know i am practicing an exercise in futility

Smart has a Turbo option - rather like a lawnmower on steroids!

We hired one in Barcelona and drove all the way through the Pyrenees in it. Dealt with the mountains no probs - I even got a speeding ticket crossing the border into Andorra...

I didn't notice it to be particularly noisy.

And they're pretty expensive for what they are, too...
