Except you don't factor in the overall performance of the car makers. Those Fiats 'littering the bottom of the list', are still in the Top 100 models - there are far more than 100 models of car in the UK!

If you look at the manufacturers league table Fiat are 18th out of 30 (and there are more than thirty manufacturers that sell in the UK too!).

I'm thinking you should retire gracefully from this argument before you are tarred with the same 'Jack-Cheese' as Oerdin...

You manage to make yourself look like a total knob, even if you're right about something. But that's another matter.
I tend to find the people that say that are the ones with puny egos that can't take a hiding from me...

In this particular instance, Oerdin looks like a total knob not because he is wrong - but specifically because of scoring the own-goal (not the CG variety!) of attempting to belittle me with his supposed 'superior knowledge' and having it backfire spectacularly...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

    • Don't worry MOBIUS, it is a diesel and doesn't get through much fuel and is relatively powerful. I just fancied something with all the mod cons that has better fuel efficiency than my previous two (smaller and much less powerful) cars.

Fiat really aren't that good on there though, are they?

My mother has owned a string of Nissans going back as long as I can remember and they were all old bangers and she never had any problems with any of them. I had an Almera for almost four years and the most significant problem I ever had was a new exhaust after 70k and the odd headlamp bulb. I had a Peugeot 106 before that one. Never again...

Cars are expensive here - we have a "pay for three, get one" taxing, and that of course also shows in used cars. A '97 brava goes for 4.600-8.700 euros - the cheap is a wreck with 176 kkm and the expensive 97 kkm.

          • Ford's are right around industry average with virtually every European name plate other then Porche and Jag being low quality rubbish. FIAT isn't in the US market so it isn't listed on the survey results but FIAT is well known for making inferior garbage thus we can expect it to be lower ranked then Volkswagon... Which is damn near the worst quality car sold in the US.

If European built Fords don't score as well as American built Fords then that just means European workers can't do as good of a job when it comes to assembling cars.

Who is 'Mr Jack-Cheese' now, Oerdin?

Which, to me, is ****e. That's the bottom half. Hardly something that would lead an intelligent person to assert as evidence of high quality.

Can't you take a 'holiday' to a place where they sell 2nd hand cars more cheaply? Germany? Not here though, cos we drive on the 'right' side of the road...

We had a thing in the UK where we were paying massively over the odds for new cars and people would shop on the continent for them and bring them back. That seems to be mostly fixed now.

Busted in his hypocritical attack, Oerdin resorts to the only option still available to a beaten man: Name calling.
