I was riding the metro and at the College Park stop there were lots of FSU fans getting on. Wimped out at half time because of the cold and they were losing.

Yeah, it gets 60 and they start complaining about the cold .

I feel bad for wisconsin; they can possibly go the entire season with one loss and not make a bcs bowl...
If they can win their next two (Penn State and Iowa), I think they move up a good amount. Though, just barely getting by Illinois isn't going to help them much.
but they only allow a max of 2 teams from 1 conference even if those 2 teams would play in the national championship.
personally I'd love to see OSU and Michigan play twice this year and win both. I dont know if thatd be fair to another team but if the #1 beats #2 and vice versa I dont think that should change the actual standing that much.

True... Wisconsin isn't going to make a Big 5 bowl, but they will move up a good deal. Don't feel TOO bad for Wisconsin though. They don't play Ohio State this year. That would have made them a 2 loss team, undoubtedly.

The Badgers still have a ways to go, don't forget. Penn State is coming to town next week, and that won't be an easy game by any means; remember, the only teams to beat the Lions so far are the Bucks, the Wolverines, and the Irish.
New rankings. I wanted to bump my old rankings just so I could show how tough I was on USC for playing football like a bunch of high school girls, but since Drake said he did that too, I won't. Plus, I don't want to go searching. These are all new rankings...
1) the OSU
2) Michigan (told you they were #2)
3) WVU (beats Louisville....31 - 24)
4) Tennessee
5) Florida
6) Texas
7) Louisville (gone in two weeks)
8) Cal
9) Notre Dame (first appearance)
10) Auburn
11) Rutgers (get a week and a half to plan for Louisville, will be a 1-loss team after WVU in their last game)
In other news, Kirk Herbstreit, who I already quoted twice today on USC, just put Tennessee as his best 1-loss team. Weird! I think I might be underrating my own opinions!
USC got exposed today. And so did Texas. The ranks of overrated teams are thinning out. Plus you know what I like best? They are in decline. Today was the best play you will see out of USC or Texas for the rest of the year.
Arkansas is going up though...I firmly believe the Arkansas team that played since the Auburn game could easily win over USC. They stopped the turnovers, Mitch found his passing game (as little called for as it is), our rushing just keeps improving, and we're playing like a team. I don't do much rankings but I feel Arkansas is 10 or 11 now though some don't rank us at all. Just better that we keep sailing under the radar. The coaches can play comments like "Arkansas will never recruit the talent to be competitive year-to-year" or "Arkansas will go 0-4 in November" or "look at how bad the SEC is, Arkansas is leading it" to the players before games to remind the urgency, and how much they should want these Ws.

Unfortunately, they'd need either Ohio State or Michigan to fall flat on their faces in order to have any chance, even if they win out, because the BCS takes two teams max out of any one conference. And considering who they have left to play before each other, I doubt that happens.
Them's the breaks, sadly. Wisconsin does look in terrific shape to make some BCS noise next year, though.

More and more pundits are talking about the possibility of a OSU-Michigan rematch in the title game; what do you all think of this?
I obviously have my biases, but no matter what the outcome of the Nov. 18th game, I think a national title rematch would be a bad idea. The winner would have already proven itself against the loser, why make them do it again? There ought to be a new opponent, even if everyone thinks the OSU-Mich loser remains the clear #2 team.

So did Texas? You make it sound like going to Lubbock to play the Raiders is a stroll in the park.
Guess what? It's not.

1. OSU
2. Michigan (LW #3)
3. Cal (LW #4; tough competition gets the props)
4. USC (LW #2; toughest competition gets the props)
5. Tennessee
6. Notre Dame (tough choice between ND, Auburn, and Fla, but ND's only loss is to #2)
7. Auburn
8. Florida
9. Louisville (weak competition)
10. Texas (weak competition)

I think it's going to be tough to set up, if USC or Cal win out (especially USC). The computers love these teams, and for good reason.

I think it would be more acceptable to have a rematch of a game played early in the year, but this time on neutral ground.
Obviously, an ND v. Michigan rematch wouldn't make sense because Michigan beat ND soundly in South Bend.
People want to set up the biggest game possible, and that gets it about right when it's all said and done.
