I am guessing that he's falling on his sword as soon as the "final" punishments have been determined for his players. Miami's AD and school president have been conspicuously silent on this, so they are setting him up to take full responsibility (and not themselves).
On the other hand, this is Miami, so there's really no telling what they'll do. Maybe they'll suspend the players only for a single meaningless game against Duke, and then Coker will be fired if they lose the bowl game that they attend. This would be the shameless approach that I've come to expect from the program.
