If you look at it objectively, I think you'd be hard pressed to find any real difference between the 4 teams at this point in the season. They've all won the games they should have and lost the games they were expected to, with the possible exception of Washington's loss to a 3-3 Oregon State team (whose losses have been to Boise State, California and Washington State).
If that's the case, why should USC's narrow victories against ASU, WSU and UW drag them down in the polls while Michigan's narrow win over Penn State has no effect?
