So what? Just because a belief is widely-held doesn't mean it's correct...

edit: At the moment, 4 teams in the SEC (1/3rd of the conference) have losing records. Only 2 teams in the Pac 10 (1/5th of the conference) have losing records...

You may have a point, but you may not. What if the beaten teams are Western Podunk State and North Cental Bumfuk?

I'm not sure I have a point, either. Just thought it might be interesting to look at some statistics rather than continue to make claims for one conference's superiority over another's based solely on opinion.

... seems to favor the Pac 10, however. Pac 10 teams plays 9 conference games, as opposed to 8 for SEC teams. That gives Pac 10 teams one less opportunity to schedule a non-conference patsy and the conference as a whole ten less opportunities to pad its stats.
