  • You had an argument against the SEC while USC was looking mediocre and almost losing to several bad teams, but now that they've actually lost to a bad team, I think that ship has sailed.

Why? The fact that USC isn't as good as expected makes SEC West leading Arkansas look even worse. What does it say about the SEC when one of their best teams gets smoked 40-15 by a good but not great USC team?

And Oregon State isn't a bad team...

    • Big East and Pac 10 are the best conferences so far this year.

Sadly, the Big 12 is like the SEC this year; a bunch of good but not great teams who beat up on each other. Luckily, with the exception of Sloww, most Big 12 fans don't seem to be in denial about the true strength of their conference...

      • Drake, USC almost lost to several average teams. OSU isn't a terrible team, but they're someone that a true #3 team doesn't lose to. What does that say about Arkansas' very first game? I don't really care.

SEC > Pac-10. There's no more question about it. Neither the computers nor the human polls support your point of view.

Like I said, I hope neither Louisville nor WVU simply back into the Championship game for having an SOS in the 80's and winning against easy teams.

tOSU is the only "great" team. I love WVU's team, but their SOS is regrettably low. Louisville will lose to WVU and Rutgers....watch it!

edit: tOSU....wouldn't want to be overrating anyone.

The problem is, that all of the polls are already biased in favor of SEC teams, because an SEC team is going to get a higher ranking at the beginning of the year, whether they deserve it or not, simply based on the theory that the SEC is better.

              ACK!

              • Luckily, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, and Arkansas have not gone out and lost to a bunch of pansy-ass Beavers. If this happened, then the critics of human polls would be proven right. None of them have waited on this to remain critics, however.

                    • i agree with the point that USC shouldnt lose to a OSU if they were ranked #3...I dont see how some people didnt see a loss coming based on past record. this is why i think usc should have been 8 or 9

                        • I agree that the SEC is overrated a lot of years. Maybe I wouldn't give a damn if I didn't still think that Tennessee had the best chance of beating OSU (err...tOSU).

Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, would pound the Beavers.

Based on the games so far, USC > Arkansas > Auburn > Florida > Tennessee. Which means that the "pansy-ass" Beavers are better than any of the SEC's contenders for the national title.

I'd probably agree if you just said that OSU would beat all these teams.

I think most football teams would pound the beavers........
