FDR and JFK are both brilliant examples of Presidents whose entire "strong leader" stature was crafted by a co-operative media. Both had their health problems, Kennedy was too impulsive and immature for a leadership position.

HW Bush seems like a very dignified and calm leader in retrospect. Reserved, thoughtful, giving credit where it's due, doing his best.

...and according to pollingreport.com ~45% of registered haven't even heard of him, and he is named by about 15% of his own party for '08. He'd have to produce and push through a damn spectacular 1 1/2 years of legislation to even get a chip in for nomination. I just can't begin to fathom the hard-on for this guy around here.

It has something to do with his being the only known Democrat to possess any form of charisma. Better to be a novice with personality like Obama than a soulless leather veteran like Kerry, IMO. I had no idea who Kerry was before he got nominated, BTW.
