Confirmed by the Saudis (most 911 terrorists were Saudi) and leaked by French intelligence (THE FRENCH??)? I can’t see an easy way for the Bush admin to spin this.

If its true, I'm gonna be pissed. It shoulda been us that killed him, not some lowly bacterium.

Perhaps it was the work of Allah.

Typhoid-who knew that Osama was hiding on the Oregon Trail.

This, combined with gas prices now at 1.99/gal here, is going to make for a funfilled november.

There are a lot of ignorant voters in United States. Some of them are probably just so obtuse that they will be in such a celebratory mood anyway, and vote for Republicans because they will still equate with Osama's death with Republicans serving their terms even if there is no correlation.

Come on Mad Monk -- you know that there are an incredibly large number of stupid voters in our country.

I asked myself whether the gas prices or OBL would make for a good October Surprise thread. OBL won out this time, although you are free to start your own October Surprise thread. The more the merrier.

Can we get the body and bury it with pig entrails?

Given that he's probably been living in an area that's been "bombed back to the stone age", and that in all wars before the modern day more fighters died from disease than combat, it's especially un-ironic.

I wouldn't be too proud to claim it as a military victory. Disease has always been a part of the battlefield.
