      Honestly though

Which do you think is the better place to be, Strasbourg or Brussels?

Doesnt realy matter as it would be a one time move.
I prefer Strasbourg for historic reasons.

Brussels has more hits on Google.

I suggest limiting the damage to one city. A central government has needs that don't necessarily result in benefits for a host city.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

They should just pick some uninhabitated island from roughly the center of Europe, and build a new city there. Would save on airfares.

Because it's a waste to move all those fat politicians (ptui!) from one place to another, for absolutely no valid reason.

What if we nuke (yaay, EU has nukes!!) Palestine and declare it EU zone, and just build it there? Anyone who threatens the security of that zone would face immidiate nuking.

                          pros:

We get to nuke someone, thus gain practical experience and further develop our defense.

No one should have a problem with us anytime soon after that.

No more ME problems. At least for a while.

Iran will cry about it and make claims of hypocricy, so we nuke them too self defensively. No more problems there either. The rest will get the message.

Fallout Park for kids later on. Lots of educational material to be documented plus fun can be had!

It doesn't cost much to zone the area. Just fill the huge crated and bulldoze the rest of the crap to Libanon.

It will also put an end to the Pope vs. whoever.

                          It's not France.

                          Cons:

                          Nuking isn't free.

Brussels is just... Brussels. It's already the capital of a nation, for god's sake. Strasbourg, on the other hand, is a city which has been clashed over by two different cultures fro the past couple hundred of years. If it could be considered the capital of euroipe, it would be a huge tribute to the past, as well as having the symbology that Europe shall cooperate. Heck, after WW1, for a short time, Alsace-Lorraine declared independence,

Plus I'm a bit biased since part of my ancestry is Alsatian.

And Brussels is just some random capital from a random country which shouldn't even bother to exist outside of historical accident.

strasbourg is in france... well it should be in germany. evil landgrabbing french.
Unfortuanatly, Alsace is almost completely lingustically french now. That is probably the major thing I dislike about France: its policy of language assimilation, killing the dialects and languages that are not standard french. The death of languages not only is destroying diversity, but destroying different ways of thinking.

Then again, some other European countries are the same.

You should cut and paste that in the thread about the French Canadians forcing French on everyone.
