Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Well that's obviously linked to our mild autmn and mild winter* (* so far - late march snow for us all next week).
The mild six months have been due to persistent south-westerly winds. had the winds been in the north or east, the North Sea would be below average.
It's called weather.
yes
single years can and will change significantly from the average. this is called weather, id est short-term temperature, rainfall, lux per km² -counts et aliae.
ten-year, or perhaps twenty-year averages form larger trends. these are called climate. For example, when you dumb-asses attach us graphs which are supposed to prove that "CARBON-BASED CLIMATE CHANGE IS A MYTH" because this year has less hurricanes or tropical storms than the last year or the year before that, you're proving our point for us with your graphs because twenty years ago the 10-year average was much lower than it is now.
Don't bother replying. Judging by your posting career in Apolyton, your understanding ended during the first 10 words and then you lost track because there are too many fuzzy words per sentence.
!!! OMG THERE WAS A 5-YEAR PEAK CIRCA 1940 CLEARLY THIS PROVES THAT THERE ALREADY WAS A SIGNIFICANT GLOBAL WARMING PERIOID AROUND WORLD WAR 2 AND WE SHOULD THUS IGNORE THE GENERAL TREND OF EXPONENTIAL TEMPERATURE GROWTH SINCE THE INVENTION OF THE ASSEMBLY LINE !!!
No, you morons. Learn and understand the difference between weather and climate.
Sounds like you didn't bother reading anything, preferring to have the thinking capabilities of a four-pound brick instead of learning something new. Not a surprise.
Why don't you get a new cause instead of pretending to be a climate expert when even a punk kid with just high school climate knowledge can destroy your 'well this year has less hurricanes than the last!'-arguments without even trying? You could spend your days writing in Apolyton about fat chav chicks on beaches instead of wasting everyone's time with your (non-existing) scientific knowledge.
I waited 30 minutes so I could give you a chance to write something thoughtful I could've forgotten... so that's it? That's your official retort? A toothless personal attack about drinking problems?
Hey, I have to admit that it drives the postcount of the thread up, thus decreases the amount of time until the latest displayed page of the thread changes and you can again pretend that my note about climate and weather being different things doesn't exist. But really, that's the best you can do? If so, I have to repeat my advice: stick to your "summer's here, birds have little clothes now"-threads, you're just wasting everyone's time here.

And of course posing piccies from Wikipedia is really insightful.
Yes, I think I've understood your debating tactique now. That retort of yours makes sense, if you pretend my post above doesn't exist:

What's awesome is that you don't seem to understand that that pic wasn't brought up to this thread by me. I just quoted the pic from a previous poster in this thread, I had no idea it was from Wikipedia before you said it to me. But understanding this (and noticing the 597 pixel-tall image from previous posts) would've required you to read the thread, so it's not really all that surprising.
So, yeah. That's your retort: 'you're drunk, and you're not really contributing altough you noticed and posted a skyscraper-sized fundamental flaw in my arguments'. Thanks for wasting my time, champ. Now I know that reasoning and talking with you is like trying to move a brick wall by pushing it with my scalp. For you, the main point of discussion seems to be about who "wins" the argument since you don't bother admitting that you were wrong altough you can't counter any of my points. For me, discussion is about learning new. I didn't learn **** from this discussion, or any of the previous discussions I've had with you, so I won't bother trying again. Again, champ: thanks, and congrats.

Long weekends aren't good for your liver, are they?
Basically the chart says that after around 1920, and especially after 1975, the average temperature of the northern hemisphere has went out of sync with solar activity. Looks like the "It's the Sun" morons are pwned.
does the fact that graph reflects our coming out of the mini ice age have any relevance? I mean, the world was pretty damn cold 200 years ago... And that cold snap effected the northern hemisphere more than other parts of the world, so naturally when a warming trend hit the northern hemisphere would warm up more than other parts of the world.

Climate science - look at a graph and draw conclusions. Don't bother with addressing underlying data at all
Heavy crop losses have been reported throughout the Southeast after last weekend's frigid temperatures, and farmers are bracing for another expected cold snap next week.
In South Carolina, at least 90 percent of the peach crop was destroyed and officials said Wednesday they would seek federal aid.
