      • I don't think they're meeting in the playoffs either for some odd reason :cough:

Yeah, it's not what he's there for. Then again, if Crumpler holds that pass that hit him in the hands in the 2nd drive, perhaps he doesn't have to pass in the pocket so much. And having some time in the pocket would be nice as well .

No, he does. It's where the coach keeps telling him to put the ball

            • And the other part of that story is that WR's get tired of getting their route run while battling the def, and when they make their break and look back, he's running.
WR's will tire of that quickly.

              • Real WRs

like Hines Ward will gladly block the crap out of their covering DB to make sure the QB gets as many yards as possible.

                • On a play, not for game after game. They exist to catch a ball that a real QB wants to throw.

                  • Congrats NO! Many people are still in the stadium! It's like the end of a Superbowl... wow... (LOL, they are drowning out the ESPN guys)

And Sloww, you are being silly. WRs, like Hines Ward, on teams like the Steelers block on far more plays than they get thrown passes in their direction. And back when Nebraska ran the option in college football, those WRs blocked just about all the time, and didn't "get tired of running their route".

                    • My point is, they have a hope of getting the ball thrown more than a WR for Vicks or Brooks.

That's pretty obvious. Here are Vick's numbers:

                        PASSING
                        12 for 31, 137 yds. 0-TD, 0-INT, 1 Fumble, 5 sacks
                        RUSHING
                        6 for 57

So why was Mora using him that way???? Was it just that stupid of a game plan against a team known to be notoriously weak at the LB position?

Then again, if Crumpler holds that pass that hit him in the hands in the 2nd drive...
Crumpler never drops those. The league ordered that drop. Like I told you, the fix was in.

                        • Um... Sloww, you do realize that Aaron Brooks has thrown a great number of passes in his career? He's not nearly the same type of QB that Vick is. For example, in 2004, Brooks threw for the 3rd most passing attempts in the NFL. 9th in attempts in 2003 and 2002. Vick is much more of a running QB using his much greater speed and elusiveness, who is now in an offense than makes use of a shotgun option.

Just because they are both black and athletic doesn't mean they are the same kind of QB.

                            • Warren Moon was a passer. Doug Williams was a passer.
                              Brooks and Vick are not.

Seems to me to be a result of the special teams (blocked punt for a TD on the 4th play of the game, blocked FG try later) putting the team in a whole. Dunn struggled compared to the last two games, but he only ran him 13 times. Though a lot of passing attempts came at the end of the game.

In the end, it wasn't a typical game for the Falcons. Hopefully they'll put it behind them and pound the ball down the Cards throat next Sunday.

Heh... though Crumpler really should have had at least one of the two passes in the endzone on that 2nd drive. I was really shocked that he dropped both.
