The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.
25 themes/skins/styles are now available to members. Check the select drop-down at the bottom-left of each page.

Whoever wants to take it can. I wouldn't have had a problem with Darsnan's answer (the Flagstaff War is often called the First Maori War) except for the fact that his dates were referring to a later conflict

Is googling fair? I got my "not quite right" answer on Kadesh off the top of my head, no way id have missed it if id googled using what i already knew.

None of my recent answers were googled, but if other people have been given the opportunity to guess and haven't come up with anything I don't see why you shouldn't google. The nice thing about this stuff is that it's not a cakewalk to google the right answer unless you already have a good idea.

I won't be able to post anything till I get home from work tonight (about 7 hours from this post), so if you want go ahead.
As far as googling is concerned: I like KH's idea that "if other people have been given the opportunity to guess and haven't come up with anything then it should be OK to google". This then gives everyone a chance to guess off the top of their heads, and if no one gets it, then we fall back onto googling, if nothing more than to keep the thread moving along. Anyways, my $0.02 on the subject.
his scientific contribution was a method for making acetone, needed for cordite, helping the UK in WW1.
He is more well known for his political achievements however, which I appreciate much, though some here may not
And the hint was that he was a hard scientist, but KH didnt know him, so I figured hes not a fizzocist. Looked british and edwardian, so i thought of the only brit chemist of the era whose name i know, and then I googled to confirm.
Heres a pic of him with Prince Feisal, leaving one to reflect on might have beens.
