2300 of whom would likely not think twice about lighting up one of their "countrymen", if it came to that..

Sources disagree on how many are there. Earlier tonight it was reported that 4100 had been brought to Damascus. At the outset of the crisis, a total of 10,000 was mentioned.

That is part of why it is no trivial matter for social authorities to check up on how these people make a living, once they're back here.

The fact of the matter is, the majority of Danish citizens that are there are not the ones who are likely to be harrassed. That is why your previous post was so utterly beside the point.

Condi has ordered that her people sign waivers that will mean that Americans will not longer have to reimburse their government for being evacuated from a war zone.

She had little choice. Pelosi was starting to raise a stink about it, and you could be sure it would have become an election issue, with most Americans being pissed that the government force our peole to pay for being rescued. After all, we don't charge sicitzens for fire services when their house is on fire. We tax everyone. This is one of the things our taxes pay for, getting us the hell out of a war zone.
