1/2 English 1/4 German 1/8 Irish and 1/8 Scandinavian for me. Two branches go back quite a ways here in Canada, one born in Kingston about 1750 or so.

I'm English, Welsh, Scotch-Irish, Irish, at least two strains of American Indian and a dash of French for flavor.

Standard Anglo-Celt mutt as far as I can tell. A chunk of English with Scots, Welsh, Cornish and, given my last name, Irish all mixed in.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

Well, based on purely genealogical research, I considered myself 31/32 Romanian, and 1/32 Austrian (with the caveat that all my family comes from lands that were under Austrian rule for a long time, so take that as you will.)

What did your sister use for the genetic testing? I tried National Geographic and they gave me the most vague response I can possibly imagine (You belong to haplogroup R1A1). Gee... thanks, I could be descended from the Vikings! or from the Indian subcontinent, or really anywhere in between. I'm pretty sure I could have guessed that one myself

No clue, there's no hint of any Slav ancestry, it is quite possible anyway.

Even funnier is how my mother's maiden name sounds like it's a German-Jewish name, yet my grandfather claims his ancestry-ID (common item during nazi days) was fine with nothing Jewish in there. Research for those passports only went back by 3 generations anyway, so if I had Jewish ancestory, the last would have been around during the mid 19th century.

1/2 English...1/2 Scottish. Like sloww, my family (both sides) came to Tennessee in the 1790's (from Virginia where one side had been for at least one generation). Unlike sloww, my family stayed. Family records in England exist for my family back to the 1200's. Interestingly, my first wife (and mother of my son) is of Germanic heritage...the first departure from English/Irish in the gene pool in 800 years as far as I can tell.

Mine is difficult, but probably som 3/8 Bavarian, 3/8 indigenous Styrian (which in itself is actually a weird mixture of Bavarians, Slovenians, Celtic and Germanic substratum, enriched by Avars, Jews, Hungarians etc.), 1/8 Bohemian, 1/16 Hungarian, 1/16 Slovenian+others (possibly Jewish, for some mysterious reason we cannot trace part of our ancestory...).

Well as far as I know I'm 100% Germanic and I have little body hair. I don't think that means I have an Indian great grandfather
