Yeah... I was trying to come up with something that really fit, and got lazy and just bailed. Especially with choices like:

    Pathetic
    Pointless
    Pretentious

I guess your choice is the only real one that works

*Oh, and don't get me wrong, I'm a serious fan of it, and watch it regularly... I just get a little tired of their biases... I don't mind biases on local stations covering their own teams... but they are supposed to be a national network, not a shill for the Yankees and Red Sox

And STILL there are Yankee and Red Sox fans out there who think the media is against them (I know a Yankee fan personally who thinks this)!

Now that is funny... especially if they include ESPN in their thinking. Many national fans are against them, but not the East Coast media... It was good to hear on ESPN this morning that there is a "good" chance that only one team from the East will make the playoffs... and that Detroit or Chicago will be the wild card...

        NO KIDDING! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA

Seriously, I have a friend who thinks ESPN is desperately wanting the Yankees to fail. It's absolutely bat**** crazy.

That is crazy... Maybe because ESPN is both pro Boston and pro Yankee, he thinks they are anti Yankee whenever they say good things about Boston... and just ignores all the pro Yankee stuff because he drinks from the same kool aid

Phillies finally got around to doing the "right thing" with Myers - he's off to Single A but currently inactive.

Meanwhile, the Phillies continue to suck. Their starting pitching is just a joke at this point. I guess Cory Lidle is our "ace" right now?? And I heard for Sunday Uncle Chuck is going to just use the bullpen for the entire game and hope for the best.

At least they've gotten so bad that they're fun to watch again. When they were trying to contend it was painful.

No, just thinks they are anti-Yankee.

Boston is a funny case though, the mainstream media still loves them and Fenway is a great place and their gesture to Pedro was wonderful. The rest of us were cheering our hearts out for them, wanting them to win that WS ring... but after they did it, we all looked around and said "Man, the Red Sox sure spend a lot, don't they?" Of course, some Sox fans arrogance after the victory went even further in consigning them to a relatively similar (but not the same) level of dislike as the Yanks recieve.

                  Sorry.

                  I failed.

                      oh... this is awesome:

On July 7th, I get to go to Miller Park in Milwaukee to see the Cubs lose. But what is cool is it's another Skybox deal.

                      w00t!

free food, free beer, and the box is right behind home plate on the lower level

This will be the fourth time I've been. The first time (or maybe second) I went I got to see Randy Johnson pitch when he was still with Arizona. He hit a home run in that game.
To us, it is the BEAST.

                          yup yup

also, the food they serve in the skyboxes is catered... it's not the stuff you get at the vendors

not the same stuff the peasants eat
To us, it is the BEAST.

Read any Yankee message board and you will see lots of posts about EPSN being NESN-2 (NESN = the Red Sox network) and being all anti-Yankee and pro-Red Sox. Gammons is usually exhibit A.

Despite the fact that even he goes out of his way to say good things about Yankees (I snarfed when he asserted that Chien-Ming Wang will win 20 games this year), and several others are clearly either pro-Yankee or unbiased.

It's not only crazy, it's SILLY. As is the insessant whining by MidWesterners and West Coasters about why ESPN "disrespects" their team.

As for the Red Sox, to an extent (not wholly), winning the World Series made them just another team. Just another East Coast team. Just another big spending team... hmm.

They've still got Fenway, some faint aura from the past history, and (most importantly) the role as the foil of the Yankees recently. That prevents a lot more people from hating them. The enemy of the Yankees is my friend, right?
