Ecuador did put a weakened team out there, including resting the dangerous striker Delgado. This does not indicate anything about the Ecuador team.

And ha ha that US TV has more games shown than British TV .

      • YIKES! It seems like Owen has gotten hurt in the first 5 minutes. Apparently it seems quite bad from what I've read .

As I said: "Some games are simultaneous and if the broadcasting rights aren't shared some of those aren't shown."

All of the games were on Flemish television either how. What a waste of a perfectly good tongue.

                  • L0L0L0L0L!!1 The undefeated streak against England, since 1968, still stands. We wasted the group win against Trinidad in my opinion, feeling a bit pessimistic about facing the germans at home.... But for now let's celebrate.

                      • Well England played a good 45 min. Too bad the games are 90 min long. I think they'll beat Ecuador but thats about it. Their defense on set plays was complete crap and Robinson looks to be the worst goalie England has ever had. The 2nd Swedish goal looked like something from the Keystone cops.

Goddam Allbeck. I was surprised to see him still playing and then further surprised that he didnt start in the earlier games since he seems to be as effective and as hard playing as ever.

                            • Well I think I can speak for most England fans when I say I'm GUTTED to finish unbeaten at the top of our group and be facing Ecuador in the last 16......

                              • Does anyone have a view on the chances for Angola to advance?

They need mexico to lose while they win by a combined margin of 4 to go through . Usually I see that as far-fetched but Angola plays Iran who has been far from impressive. Meanwhile I can see Portugal beating mexico.

Its a tough game in the playdowns regardless since Portugal MUST get either Netherlands or Argentina (who are playing off for first in group C)
