They pointed to specific things like the Sermon on the Mount and said that given the accoustics of the place it's supposed to happen, there's no way this was a real event; rather, it is a collection of Jesus's teachings. And other stuff like that, it was kinda interesting.
So the son of .GOD needs a microphone to talk to the masses. How stupid man can be sometimes

It is reported that the next time he comes, he will talk to the world at the same time, and in all lang. at the same time. Oh wait, man on earth saids he can't do that. It would be impossible to talk to everone at once.

Well, that's if you like to believe in fairy tales and such. Now, if you believe that Jesus was just a prophet like many before him and some after (though more influential), you can actually strip away the layers of BS in the Bible. Remember, the New Testament is not the word of God, it's what four people wanted to tell us about Jesus.

Somewhat more than four people, actually, who failed to agree on plenty of points.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

I'm pretty sure the official version is 4 people, out of the 50 or so that wrote about the subject.

I keep hearing there is no evidence in the Bible of Jesus being married, but if the Church did try to suppress that evidence only a subtle clue missed by clergy compiling the NT would be found in the Bible.

Why was Jesus responsible for supplying the wine at the wedding at Cana?

According to Jewish tradition the bridegroom is supposed to supply the wine, and yet these people (even his mother) held Jesus responsible for that task. And when a wedding guest tasted the wine, he said it was normal for the host of the party - the bridegroom - to have 2 batches of wine with the superior wine served first and the 2nd batch served after people were getting drunk, but Jesus saved the better wine for last. And I believe it was Jesus' priestly duty to marry and have kids, although he seemed to argue against that tradition.

Are you talking about the Second Coming? According to the Gospels, it had already happened. Jesus of Nazareth was reportedly saying something about not everyone of his time would pass away before the Kingdom of God would descend. Or something like that.

More accurately, he's the son of SOME CHICK NAMED MARY. There's a confusion as to whom the father is, which is a common enough occurence.

Eh, most the rest that we know of obviously wrote later, and also obviously have mixtures of other thought of the time (the gnostics).

It makes sense for the great majority of followers of Christ to not be gnostics... and the NT Bible is the official version for the nonGnostics (yeah, I recognise that there are a few other groups arround also.. and some can't be delt with as easily).

I think that most people do not understand that the Bible we know today is the creation of the Council of Nicea that was ordered by Emperor Constantine to agree on one doctrine. This is when only four out of dozens of gospels were included in the New Testament. Others, like the recently discovered gospel of Judas, were discarded and lost to history.

Even if these other gospels are not consistent with church dogma, they probably to provide some clue as to what really want on in Judea during the time of Christ. The da Vinci code focuses on one aspect of that in that it postulates that Mary Magdalene had Christ's baby. Surely in there is evidence of Christ's affection for Mary in the suppressed gospels, which makes this postulation somewhat likely, in my humble opinion.

If you read about the history, you will fine that people were arguing about it well before Constantine.. and that the majority position for much of the time that we have record of was closer to the current position...

Once more, that was postulated earlier and better in other work.. but there is no evidence for it, and it is not at all likely in the traditional Christian interpretation (Christ is God). In the more jewish stylings (don't remember the name of this right now) it would be more reasonable, but I beleive it isn't mentioned.. (but I don't know this as well) same with Arianism..

The Catholics have nothing to complain about. According to one spokesperson on NPR people have been flocking to Opus Dei ever since they heard it was a mysterious ultra-secret society. I just wish someone would do this for the Episcopal Church, instead all the fiction that gets written about us depicts our clergy as being middle-classed suburban druggies or clueless single parents.

I believe the line is something like "truly I say to you, there are those here who will not taste death until they see the son of man come in glory." Among those present were Peter, James, and John, who later witnessed the transfiguration on Mt. Tabor.
