U.S. Immigrants To Boycott on May 1st

Well, it seems that Bush is scared, for he foolishly declared May 1st to be "Law Day.""Remember, there's good stuff in American culture, too. It's just that by "good stuff" we mean "attacking the French," and Germany's been doing that for ages now, so, well, where does that leave us?" - Elok

I found this somewhat amusing: Calif. Dems Cancel Work, But Keep Pay
Edit: Out of interest, why would the Calif. Legislature, urge kids to be poor and stupid while trying to cut millions from the state educational system?I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara
For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

The story is here.
Basically, activists have called for immigrants to stay home from work and not shop or study on May 1st. This is to protest proposed tightening of U.S. immigration laws. Latino and other Hollywood stars are lining up in support.
My first thought was to wait to see which companies are most affected by the boycott and have them investigated. However, this may be unfair to those employing legal immigrants. Any thoughts out there on the possible impact and results of such a boycott?
Actually, no, I'm ****ing offended by this. I wouldn't have minded, if, say, they extending the goddamn umbrella to the slants with our widescreen view on things--there are, after all, lots of illegal chinks here--but then again, does anybody outside of the Asian community really give a damn?
Doesn't seem like it. And parts of the Asian community don't like talking about it because--surprise, surprise--they profit off of it.
The way they're framing this whole argument seems to be a numbers and cultural game, rather than rights, which I--and others, I'm sure--would be far more sympathetic to. They play up the Latino culture with that stupid "national anthem"; they want to show how much their presence affects the economy because of their numbers. (The snarky side of me says, "Great! Go do your march. The rest of us with jobs have to work today, putzes.")
So, once again, the gooks are overlooked. I'm not sure if it's because our numbers are less, or if it's because of all the minorities, everyone things we're the most bleached~
And naturally, since they didn't even think to include us in it, or campaign on rights instead of culture... **** 'em.B♭3

FYI - Careful with the racial epithets. They're sure to bring down the wrath of Ming (or any other moderator that happens along)."And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." -- JFK Inaugural, 1961

I'm sorry if you feel someone is being left out. If it makes you feel better I think all illegals should be treated the same.

I'm trying to take those words back, y'see. We yellow peoples aren't yellow-bellies, and naturally, on virtually all "civil rights" demonstrations, we're left out because everybody thinks we're either going home soon or just completely twinkied and bleached out.
Oh, and there's the whole, "Asians are quiet and the model minority. They're integrated themselves real good," and so on and so forth.B♭3

So it's ok to use racial slurs in a public board just because they're your racial slurs.
Great
And to whoever mod reads my last post: I could seriously not care any less if I got banned anyway.A true ally stabs you in the front.

That's their word. Repurposing a term for their own use.
I'm amused by the fact that you're not calling them on it, but all of a sudden when I do it, and refer to myself as a chink, that's suddenly all shocking and not okay.
Odd, no?
Then again, one's never supposed to use the N-word in public if you're in office or a Personality, even if you're just saying "niggardly", but it's a-okay to call slants "little soy-eaters". It's not okay to have a slip of the tongue and accidentally refer to Condi Rice with a slur, but insulting Asians all across the board like Adam Carolla did with his "ching-chong ching-chong" skit... that's all right.
Oh, and just to throw in a little joke: my mother never went skiing, but boy, did she hit the slopes (my brother and I) a lot to punish us when we were younger!B♭3
