Good point. If we pride ourselves on the rule of law then we need to enforce the law (and not selectively).

Silly man. We give equally to both parties. It's called protection.

I don't support shipping them out of the country.

I do support photographing and fingerprinting them and most importantly. TAXING THEM

I'm ****ing sick and tired of people who don't pay their taxes. Whether they are a citizen or not. They are using our services, going to the emergency room and not paying for but not paying any taxes.

How is this right? We should feel sorry for them because they aren't white and poor? **** that. They should be paying taxes like I am.

and the star spangled banner sung in English. I know the tune was ripped off from some European country. I don't give a ****. And then they put some political message in the middle. That's just even sillier.

Personally I don't care. I thought the song kind of sucked in Spanish but if an artist wants to do that then it's their right to do so. Jimmy Henridix redid the Star Spangled Banner and it sounded pretty good though I doubt anyone will remember this version 40 years from now.

yeah good point about Jimi. A lot of people thought that was disrespectful. But I thought it just sounded cool.

and it's still better than Roseanne Barr singing it.

Not true. Those who work using phony papers have taxes deducted from their paychecks. Those with phony social security numbers will never see that money again. And everyone pays sales taxes.

They also underutilize services when compared to citizens. While some are forced by circumstances to use emergency centers, the chronically sick never leave their home countries because the sick can't work. They also don't come here to get on welfare.

A RAND study show that their only signficantly great impact on services is on education. But many of the kids of illegals were born here, and so they're citizens. For those who aren't, I don't have much of a problem with them, because when they get old enough to join the work force, I'd rather they'd be educated than illiterate.

The April 15 tax deadline to file taxes causes most Americans stress and anguish. But for the millions of people living and working illegally in the United States, filing taxes can be an opportunity to prove their economic contribution and document their residence here.

The fact is illegals can pay taxes, not only payroll kept form their paycheks, if they get paycheks, but income taxes as well by using the Individual Tax Identification Number, which allows anyone to pay taxes without a social security number.

                      The end of the article:

She says that people like Aniceto are probably harmless and just want to work. But the fact that the IRS has made it easy for him to file his taxes "institutionalizes" illegal immigration.

"The IRS has created an absurd situation, where it is working against the goals of the Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security," Dinerstein says. "It likes the tax revenue. But by refusing to cooperate with the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security by sharing knowledge, it is really aiding and abetting illegal immigration in the United States."

Last month, Aniceto Flores joined about a dozen other people looking for answers at a tax workshop.

Two women who led the workshop spoke about their experiences filing taxes as illegal immigrants. They told the audience they should file their taxes. They claimed that as long as they're honest, filing will help them more than it will hurt them.

"It's important to pay taxes because we need to think of the future," Adriana Ramirez said. "The only way to show that we've been here, that we're doing things right, is to pay taxes. It's the only way."

Aniceto still has doubts. He says he wants to do the right thing, but the rules are fuzzy and that worries him. Like most Americans, he's afraid of the IRS and getting audited. But for him, if he files his taxes and makes a mistake, he could draw the attention of authorities and could get thrown out of the country.

Night time here now. We'll see what tomorrow brings us on the appointed day. Its a day off for me so I'm planning on going to a book sale in the morning.

I predict a few big marches, a bunch of kids missing class so they can smoke pot and & watch tv, and not much else. I'll be in east LA (or more specifically Montebello) tomorrow so I figure I should be pretty near ground zero if something big does happen.

Actually, ground zero is going to be two block from where I work and practically right next to my parking lot. And I'm coming in late because of a doctor's appointment.

So my clever plan is -- rather than to drive into that maelstrom -- to go from the doctor's to union headquarters, park there, walk to the nearby subway station, and ride that in.
